Now that the weather is warming up, it’s a great opportunity to get in a workout outside when you’re not in the studio. While there are plenty of options, like playing basketball, going for a run, etc… A Fitness Scavenger Hunt is an awesome way to mix things up a bit.
Here’s how it works…
- First, map out your route (maybe a trail or path you typically take while jogging or walking)
- Then, list about 10 bodyweight exercises on the page. (pushups, squats, burpees, etc)
- Next list a landmark or object that you normally see along this route beside a specific bodyweight exercise (Maybe a park bench, playground, or specific color car or type of car, etc)
- Now, start your walk or run along the route and every time you see one of the landmarks or objects do 10 of the exercise listed beside it.
For example, you make have listed pushups with park bench beside it. So, every time you pass a park bench, stop and do 10 pushups.
Great! Now, get outside and enjoy this warm weather while getting in a great workout as well. The varying objects and exercises will keep your mind occupied and give you a chance to really be “present” in the workout while will also help reduce your stress level!
